Tickets for The Barns at Wolf Trap's new indoor season go on sale to the public Friday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m., giving McLean and Great Falls residents access to a lineup that stretches from chamber music to comedy.
The Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announced the 2026-2027 Barns season on Tuesday, Aug. 11. The 382-seat venue at 1635 Trap Rd. in Vienna, a short drive from McLean, will host more than 80 performances between November and May.
Among the headliners: actor and singer Matthew Morrison, best known as Will Schuester on "Glee," performs March 18, 2027. Beatles tribute band 1964: The Tribute, which Rolling Stone has called "the best Beatles tribute on earth," plays a two-night stand in January 2027. Chicago's improv comedy troupe The Second City returns for a multi-night run in February 2027.
The season opens Nov. 1 with a chamber music recital led by artistic advisor Daniel Hope and pianist Maxim Lando, the first of a two-part "Gilded Age" recital series.
Other highlights include The Del McCoury Band's five-night residency in late January and early February, North Indian Punjabi fusion band Red Baraat on Nov. 7, Newmyer Flyer presenting The Joni Mitchell Songbook on Nov. 20, the New York Arabic Orchestra on Dec. 4, the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in February, and the 38th Annual Evening of Comedy in April. Jim Messina with Orleans brings a farewell tour stop on Nov. 4.
Parking is free.
Wolf Trap Foundation President and CEO Arvind Manocha said the foundation is especially proud to open the historic Virginian Barn, which will give patrons more comfort and space for pre-show dining and gathering.
The Virginian Barn, a 2,500-square-foot structure dating to the early 1900s, was relocated from Loudoun County to Wolf Trap's property and donated by supporters Karen and Fred Schaufeld. It joins the existing Scottish and German barns on site and will open in November for pre-show dining, post-show gatherings and private event rentals.
More performances are expected to be added throughout the fall and winter. Tickets will be available at wolftrap.org starting Aug. 21.
