Glenwood's, a Maryland restaurant chain, plans to open a 170-seat location at Chesterbrook Shopping Center in fall 2027, bringing about 90 jobs to McLean.

The restaurant signed a lease for roughly 7,000 square feet at the shopping center on Old Dominion Drive, making it the chain's first Virginia outpost, as Patch first reported. Blueridge Restaurant Group, the Maryland-based company behind the brand, confirmed the deal in a press release.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2027. The roughly 90 positions will span management, culinary, hospitality and support roles, according to the company.

The McLean location will feature nightly live entertainment, an outdoor patio, valet parking and a private dining room with a temperature-controlled, floor-to-ceiling wine display, FFXnow reported. It will sit at the southern end of Chesterbrook near Small Door Veterinary.

"McLean is an important next step for us," Blueridge Restaurant Group managing member David Jones said in the press release. He said the community values quality dining and that Chesterbrook provides a strong setting for the brand's Northern Virginia debut.

Jones said the company chose McLean for its dining market and the chance to establish a presence at Chesterbrook.

Glenwood's currently operates three Maryland locations in Columbia, Rockville and Owings Mills. The chain is its fourth.

The brand started as Stanford Grill, which opened in Columbia in May 2010, and was rebranded in 2024, according to FFXnow. Blueridge is expanding across the Washington-Baltimore region and said it is also exploring additional restaurant sites along the East Coast.

The announcement adds to a wave of new tenants at Chesterbrook Shopping Center since Federal Realty Investment Trust acquired the property in May 2021 and launched an $8.5 million renovation. That project, which wrapped up in late 2025, overhauled building facades, added new lighting and outdoor spaces, repaved the parking lot and installed pollinator gardens.

Recent arrivals include Sweetgreen, Sorn Thai and the fashion boutique Sassanova. The beach-themed Mexican restaurant Surfside is also in the works at the center, though Federal Realty did not have an updated timeline as of FFXnow's report.

Mike Ennes, senior vice president of asset management for Federal Realty, called the lease a sign of the center's progress. Construction on the Glenwood's space is expected to begin in early 2027.
