Fairfax County Fire and Rescue crews contained a garage fire at a three-story townhouse in the 5800 block of Iron Willow Court in Kingstowne on Monday, with no firefighter or civilian injuries reported.
Units responded just after 10 a.m. to reports of a fire involving the garage, the department said in a Facebook post. Crews confined the fire to the garage and the townhouse where it started, preventing spread to adjacent homes in the row.
The cause has not been determined. Fire investigators are working to identify what sparked the blaze, and the department has not released a damage estimate or said whether any residents were displaced. The Fire Investigation Section has not announced a timeline for completing its review.
The incident is one of several structure fires Fairfax County Fire and Rescue has responded to across the county in 2026. In April, a lithium-ion battery discharge caused a fire at a strip shopping center in West Falls Church; sprinklers extinguished that blaze before it spread.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue serves all of Fairfax County, including the McLean District Station area. The department responds to structure fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials incidents countywide.
